SUMMARY:Jim Cuddy with Special Guest Marshall Dane
DESCRIPTION:In support of the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation to purchase three IV Pumps for the operating Room at the WPSHC.\nAs one half of one of Blue Rodeo’s songwriting partnership\, Jim Cuddy has one of the https://healthylombard.com/buy-propeciafinasteride-online/ most recognizable voices in Canadian music thanks to omnipresent hits such as “Try\,” “5 Days In May\,” and “Bad Timing.” As a group Blue Rodeo has sold over 5 million records world-wide\, won countless JUNO Awards\, been inducted in to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame\, received a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame and Jim (along with songwriting partner Greg Keelor) was invested as Officers of the Order of Canada. \nIn 1998\, in between Blue Rodeo projects\, Jim released his first solo album All In Time and hit the road with the eponymous Jim Cuddy Band. Since that first release the Jim has recorded three more solo albums; The Light That Guides You Home (2006)\, Skyscraper Soul (2011)\, Constellation (2018). Jim’s latest release\, Countrywide Soul\, is a celebration of sorts – a celebration of music and the musicians who join him on stage each night. The album was recorded live on the top floor of Jim’s barn and kept as natural as possible to retain the woody sound of the barn board room and the energy that only comes from playing together live. Jim re-worked a number of songs previously recorded for his solo career and with Blue Rodeo. To round out the record\, he wrote two new songs and included a couple of favourite cover songs. \nJim Cuddy will be joined by opening act Marshall Dane! \nBorn in St. Catharines\, Marshall Dane grazed on a rich fix of music\, from the country sounds of his preacher Dad who taught him to play “The Farmer’s Song” on guitar to his Mom\, who played piano in the evenings for his family of four sisters and two brothers. Marshall admits that his parents’ spiritual upbringing permeates his songs with themes of love\, home and kindness. Whether it’s a large scale festival stage\, the CNE\, one of the many CCMA Country Music Week performances or an intimate club\, Marshall’s live show is second to none. He is an artist that always connects with his audience and his energy and passion for performing makes his shows impossible to forget. \nTicket prices:\nOrchestra – $96.00\nMezzanine – $86.00\nBalcony – $76.00 \nTickets go on sale to Stockey Centre Members on Wednesday May 15th at 10am and to the general public on Friday May 17th at 10am. SUMMARY:Reuben and the Dark
DESCRIPTION:Calgary’s Reuben and the Dark is a collection of five multi-instrumentalists and vocalists led by Reuben Bullock. The group makes chilling\, emotive folk and soul driven by dark\, introspective lyrics that explore the duality of misery and joy. \nBoasting a rare chemistry between all members across western Canada\, Reuben and the Dark has emerged organically from Canada’s stellar independent scene on the strength of often anthemic compositions that translate the language of emotion into song with haunting clarity. \nTheir debut album is produced by the UK’s Chris Hayden (Florence & the Machine) and Canada’s Stephen Kozmeniuk (Madonna\, Nicki Minaj\, and The Game feat Kanye West) and is being mixed by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys\, Adele). \nReuben and the Dark return to the Stockey Centre stage after opening for Serena Ryder in 2017. \nReuben and the Dark will be joined by supporting act Birds of Bellwoods. \nToronto-based alt-rock outfit Birds of Bellwoods have wasted little time making an indelible mark on Canada’s musical landscape\, having amassed an impressive pile of achievements and accolades in a few short years on the back of their boisterous blend of anthemic alternative\, folk\, and pop music. \nNow signed with eOne Music Canada\, Birds of Bellwoods are set to drop their highly anticipated debut LP\, Victoria\, in late 2018. The album invites listeners to join the band’s high-energy musical parade built on honest\, emotive songwriting and laced with sweet\, sticky hooks. \nMuch of the attention to come their way thus far has stemmed from the band’s energetic and engaging live performances. They’ve crossed Canada and dipped into the U.S. for all kinds of dates\, including a slew of major Canadian music festivals\, support slots with the likes of Arkells and Wintersleep\, and some high-profile headlining sets of their own.

SUMMARY:Classic Albums Live presents Pink Floyd: The Wall
DESCRIPTION:Note for note cut for cut. \nRemember when you used to listen to an entire album? Classic Albums Live does. For the first time in popular music\, the greatest albums from the 60s and 70s are recreated live on stage\, note for note- cut for cut. \n\n\n“This has never been done before\,” says series producer\, Craig Martin. “There’s a real thirst to hear these albums performed start to finish. For many of us this is the music we grew up with – the soundtrack of our lives.” \n“All of our focus is put into the music.” Says Martin\, “We perform the works of the Beatles\, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin the same way an orchestra performs the works of Mozart. We don’t bother with imitation or impersonation. The bands are big – upwards of 11 pieces. We research these albums and go to great lengths to reproduce each and every sound live. We never use tape or computers. We’ll bring in a children’s choir\, a sitar player a string quartet\, whatever it takes to get it right.” \nEach album calls for a new group of musicians. “That’s the real challenge\,” says Martin\, “Finding the right musicians for the right album. So far we’ve been bang on with every performance.” Members of Nelly Furtado\, Moist\, Jesse Cooke\, Honeymoon Suite\, David Usher and the Headstones have all taken part in the performances. \n\nNow Classic Albums Live brings Pink Floyd’s The Wall to the Stockey Stage. The Wall is the eleventh studio album by English rock band Pink Floyd\, released in 1979. Conceived during the In The Flesh tour\, recording spanned nearly a year\, from December 1978 to November 1979\, and took place in France\, England\, New York\, and Los Angeles. A rock opera and a concept record\, its story explores Pink\, a jaded rockstar that bassist Roger Waters modeled after himself and band founder Syd Barrett.  The record was a commercial success\, reaching number one in the US (where it stayed for 15 weeks)\, and number three in the UK. As of 2018\, the album has sold over 24 million copies\, the second best-selling in the band’s catalog\, as well as one of the best-selling of all time. \n\nFeaturing students from Parry Sound Public School.

SUMMARY:David Myles
DESCRIPTION:The role of the song and dance man is a noble calling. But restricting himself to only a couple creative pursuits would just not be enough for David Myles. Sure\, the Maritime music maker’s song and dance mastery keeps getting more and more impressive—2017’s award-winning\, vintage rock ‘n’ roll hip-swiveler Real Love and the spectacular\, lush Francophone pop of 2018’s Le grand départ stand testament to that—but Myles is compelled to sally forth toward new challenges and accomplishments. \nThis past year he released Santa Never Brings Me a Banjo\, a children’s book based on his beloved modern holiday classic\, and dove back into the world of public radio\, broadcasting his smooth baritone over Alberta’s CKUA airwaves on his new show Myles From Home. Not to mention he does it all while adhering to an unrelenting tour schedule that has seen him and comrades Kyle Cunjak (bass) and Alan Jeffries (guitar) grace stages ‘round the world. \nThe New Brunswick-born songwriter grew up in Fredericton surrounded by musicians. It was through family that he was exposed to classical music and musical theatre—which might explain why he’s such a natural on stage\, under the bright lights—and thanks to them that he found himself working through the intricacies of trumpet with Canada’s Royal Conservatory. Eventually\, he found himself grooving and crooning to the classic sounds of legends like Elvis\, Roy Orbison\, Willie Nelson\, and Johnny Cash. \nDavid has gone on to release a dozen records in just over a decade\, building a catalogue that spans numerous genres\, has spawned countless musical friendships\, and helped soundtrack the lives of music fans all over the globe.

SUMMARY:The Ennis Sisters
DESCRIPTION:The Ennis Sisters conjure legacy with their latest offering\, Keeping Time. As a collection of 10 songs\, Keeping Time is a concept album that honours and preserves our most precious gift – time\, and what we decide to do with it. \n“It’s about the passing of time\, the loss of traditions\, the things we do to hold on to what matters most\,” says Maureen Ennis. “At the end of our lives\, when the edges of our memories are fraying\, and we are falling in and out of time\, hopefully\, looking back we’ll feel we lived our lives to the fullest with little regret.” Keeping Time is reflective yet uplifting\, as the album is about keeping time in both life and music. Inspired by the unraveling and tethering of memory\, Keeping Time is part homage\, part celebration of life\, as the album honours their father\, who they recently lost to dementia. \nWith a Juno Award\, SOCAN Award\, multiple East Coast Music Awards\, and Music Newfoundland and Labrador Awards\, The Ennis Sisters are Maureen\, Karen and Teresa. Their extensive discography spans multiple musical explorations: including; Stages (2015)\, The Fortunate Ones (2012)\, Lessons Learned (2009)\, Be Here For Awhile(2007)\, Can’t Be The Same (2003)\, Ennis Sisters (2001)\, Three (2000)\, Christmas On Ennis Road (1998)\, and Red Is The Rose (1997). Their video “Sing You Home\,” was featured for The Rooms’ 100th Anniversary of WW1 Battle of Beaumont Hamel Campaign won provincial\, national\, and international awards. \nJoin us at the Stockey Centre for an evening with The Ennis Sisters. \nTickets go on sale to Stockey Centre Members on January 17th at 10am and to the general public on January 24th at 10am.  Contact our box office at 877-746-4466 to become a member. \n

SUMMARY:Classic Albums Live performs Queen – A Night at the Opera
DESCRIPTION:Remember when you used to listen to an entire album? \nNow Classic Albums Live brings Queen’s Night at the Opera to the Stockey Stage.  A Night at the Opera is the fourth studio album by the British rock band Queen\, released on 21 November 1975. It was reportedly the most expensive album ever recorded at the time of its release. The album takes its name from the Marx Brothers film of the same name\, which the band watched one night at the studio complex when recording.

SUMMARY:Brass Transit
DESCRIPTION:What happens when eight of Canada’s most in-demand musicians and singers gather together out of a common love for one of the most successful pop/rock groups of all time? \nBrass Transit – a dynamic\, crowd-pleasing\, studio-tight powerhouse\, and the world’s foremost CHICAGO tribute! \nBrass Transit was formed in 2008 and brought together 8 of Canada’s most talented\,  accomplished and award- winning players. Their sole purpose was to pay tribute to the decades-long\, multi-platinum songbook of CHICAGO. \nAn indication of the band’s authenticity and high-level musicianship: Chicago’s current ranks already include one longtime veteran of Brass Transit! \nSince then\, the band has toured North America steadily\, dazzling audiences with  flawless performances and spectacular attention detail. Hits like: Saturday In The Park\, 25 or 6 To 4\, If You Leave Me Now\, Feelin’ Stronger Every Day and Beginnings have left crowds in awe\, evoking multiple standing ovations and comments like: “Spine-Tingling!” “Brought me back to my youth!” and “Perfect in every detail!”. \nBrass Transit goes far beyond just imitating the songs; they embody the music. They recently produced their first (self-titled) album\, taking songs by other top artists from the seventies and recording them with horns in the CHICAGO style. The result is a fresh approach to some of the greatest hits of the era. They also recently scored their show for full symphony orchestra with original arrangements that are truly spellbinding. \nTickets to this event go on sale to Stockey Centre members on Saturday November 10 at 10am and to the general public on Saturday November 17 at 10am. Contact our Box Office at 877-746-4466 to become a member or visit us at 2 Bay Street in Parry Sound.

SUMMARY:Doc Walker: Acoustic Songs & Stories from The Heartland
DESCRIPTION:Country legends Doc Walker have released their new album\, Weathervane. The first single from the new record\, “Heart of the Heartland” pays homage to small town pride across the country. \nProduced by Gavin Brown and Dave Wasyliw\, and written by Chris Thorsteinson\, Dave Wasyliw\, Todd Clark\, Gavin Slate\, the song was inspired by hometown pride\, fond memories of youth and continuing to find new inspiration in one’s roots\, in this case\, Portage la Prairie\, Manitoba and Winnipeg\, which has long been home for bandmates Dave Wasyliw and Chris Thorsteinson. \n“Heart of the Heartland is about all of the lives that were lived\, and all of the memories that were created in a now dying town. One man’s connection to the broken concrete and dilapidated structures that harbour the ghosts of his entire childhood\, and his unshakable hometown pride\,” says bandmate Dave Wasyliw. “In short\, Weathervane is the record we’ve always wanted to make. We don’t set out in a specific direction when we start writing for an album. We write\, and write\, and re-write. Much like a weathervane\, it’s almost as if we’ll lick our finger\, and hold it to the wind to see if we are on the right track.” \n“Weathervane to me is a reflection of the amazingly crazy life I’ve lived. I am one of those guys that never left his home town\, yet had the opportunity to travel the world. I’ve seen Canada from coast to coast many times throughout the years staring out the windows of vans\, old buses\, new buses\, trains and planes\, and every time I’m shocked by the beauty of our country\, but my heart has always been in the Prairies\,” says lead singer\, Chris Thorsteinson. \nWith over 20 Top 10 singles in total\, Doc Walker is one of the most recognized Canadian country acts of the past two decades. The group has received multiple Canadian Country Music Awards\, including Fans’ Choice\, Group or Duo of the Year\, CMT Video of the Year\, Single of the Year\, and Country Music Program or Special of the Year. In addition\, Doc Walker has been nominated for several JUNO Awards for Country Album of the Year\, including a win in 2009 for the album Beautiful Life.

SUMMARY:Alan Doyle
DESCRIPTION:Alan Doyle chalks up a lot of where is he right now—with both his third solo album and his second book released in October 2017—to luck. “I’m the luckiest guy I’ve ever even heard of\,” he says. “This was all I ever wanted\, a life in the music business\, singing concerts. I was lucky to be born in the family I was\, in Petty Harbour. I was lucky that Sean\, Bob and Darrell found me and asked me to join their band. I was lucky the Canadian music fans were into it.”\n\nAnd yet\, one listen to A Week at The Warehouse makes it plainly clear that there’s a lot more than luck at play in this decades long\, awards-studded career. This album\, recorded live off the floor with Doyle’s “beautiful band\,” as he calls them\, with producer Bob Rock at the helm\, is chock-a-block with country-tinged\, radio ready tunes that bring with them the flavour of some of Doyle’s favourite artists\, from John Mellencamp to Rock’s own band\, Payolas.\n\nAnd now Alan and his Beautiful Band join us on the Stockey Stage for another unforgettable performance.\n\nWith Supporting Act Whitney Rose: A Canadian-American country singer from Prince Edward Island\, Whitney Rose is influenced by Dolly Parton\, Kitty Wells\, Tammy Wynette\, Hank Williams Sr.\, and George Jones.  She has released three studio albums and her latest record Rule 62 has lead her on a tour around Canada\, the U.S.A.\, and Europe.
