DESCRIPTION:CanBIC is bringing 150 world-class scientists to Parry Sound for the 9th time! You are invited to join us at The Stockey Centre to engage with these leading chemistry researchers! \n\n\n\nSessions open to the public are: \n\n\n\nCanBIC-9 Plenary Lecture on Wednesday May 21st at 7:30pm by Professor Andrea Hartwig\, Chair of the Department of Food Chemistry and Toxicology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Her main research focuses on the impact of carcinogenic metal compounds\, including metal-based nanomaterials\, on genomic stability\, with special emphasis on DNA damage induction and the effects on DNA repair\, gene expression\, cell cycle control\, tumor suppressor functions\, and epigenetic alterations.
