Domino’s Pizza Parry Sound will be on-site selling pizza\, accompanied by The Stockey Centre’s licensed cash bar. \n\n\n\nPeasant Kings are an upbeat and entertaining 4-piece classic rock and blues band from Barrie Ontario. The band formed in 2018 from a collection of rock and blues loving musicians who met through the local music scene.  Influenced by the great sounds of Tom Petty\, The Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton amongst others\, their unique brand of entertainment fuses incredible guitars and a tight rhythm section with audience interaction and witty stage banter that will make you want to dance and sing all night. Winners of The Barrie Advance Reader’s Choice Award 2020 – Best Local Band \, they have opened for the likes of The Northern Pikes\, Sass Jordan\, Kim Mitchell\, Rik Emmett and Honeymoon Suite.

DESCRIPTION:500 Days in the Wild\, an independent documentary film which follows filmmaker Dianne Whelan’s 6-year journey to complete all 16\,000 miles of the land and water trails across North America on the world’s longest trail. The 2-hour documentary weaves together adventure\, personal reflections\, stunning wildlife\, and human connection on the rigorous and beautiful TCT Trail\, stretching from the Atlantic to the Pacific Coast\, as well as the Arctic Ocean.  \n\n\n\nAward-winning director and cinematographer Dianne Whelan is the only person to complete this epic journey of discovery—hiking\, biking\, paddling\, snowshoeing and skiing across the country. \n\n\n\nFor a woman in her 50s who is not an extreme athlete\, it was sometimes grueling\, occasionally harrowing\, often exhilarating and always surprising. She started out alone\, disillusioned with the state of the world and worried about climate change\, to look for different ways of caring for the land and each other. After moving North in 2021\, the pair decided to dive into the vibrant Muskoka music scene! Calling the Bracebridge Hall their second home\, Todd & Robyn have had the rare opportunity to develop their live chops all while being supported to write original music. With soulful harmonies and lively tambourine\, this Folksy Americana duo will not disappoint. \n\n\n\nMike Branton Band from 4pm to 6pm \n\n\n\nMike Branton is a Canadian blues guitarist known for his energetic and soulful performances. With a career spanning decades\, Branton has honed his skills\, becoming a respected figure in the Canadian blues scene. His music is a blend of traditional blues with a contemporary edge\, showcasing his mastery of the guitar and his deep understanding of the genre. Branton’s performances are captivating\, filled with raw emotion and technical prowess\, leaving audiences wanting more. He has released albums showcasing his talent and has been a mainstay at blues festivals and venues across Canada. Mike Branton is a true bluesman\, dedicated to his craft and passionate about sharing his love of the blues with the world. \n\n\n\nThe Weber Brothers from 7pm to 9pm \n\n\n\nTo many\, The Weber Brothers are the baddest band in the land. To many others\, their story sits like an ancient volume in an old bookstore\, dust covered\, tucked away behind hundreds of newer\, shinier books. Untouched. Waiting to be discovered. Regardless of what side you’re on\, there’s an undeniable truth. In the rough and tumble world of rock and roll\, The Weber Brothers have been around the block.  \n\n\n\nRyan and Sam Weber left their Baltimore\, MD home one night as teenagers\, with the aim of meeting their idol\, rockabilly legend Ronnie Hawkins\, and ten hours later showed up at his doorstep. “The Hawk”\, the elder statesman of rock who’s former protégés (Robbie Robertson\, Rick Danko\, Levon Helm\, Richard Manuel\, Garth Hudson) went on to reshape music history as “The Band”\, was duly impressed by the pair’s immense raw talent\, and promptly invited them to audition for his storied backing band\, The Hawks. Mere months later\, after surviving the intense musical apprenticeship of his fabled “Rock ‘n’ Roll Boot-camp\,” they were in: full-blooded Hawks. By the ages of 18 and 21 they had already performed alongside Kris Kristofferson\, Levon Helm\, Garth Hudson\, Jeff Healey and the Tragically Hip to name a few. \n\n\n\nOver the past 18 years they’ve recorded 16 independent albums and toured extensively throughout the U.S.\, Canada and Europe.

Domino’s Pizza Parry Sound will be on-site selling pizza\, accompanied by The Stockey Centre’s licensed cash bar. \n\n\n\nWhiskey Jack’s success began in the 1980’s when the band was invited to host their own “Ol’ Back Porch” segment on CBC TV’s Tommy Hunter Show.  Then\, when Stompin’ Tom resumed his career\, he called Duncan and invited Whiskey Jack to join him in the studio to record his acclaimed album\, “Dr. Stompin’ Tom… Eh?”. These two Canadian musical institutions would continue to perform and record together until Tom’s death in 2014. Today\, Duncan is joined by two-time Juno nominee\, Douglas John Cameron. These seasoned veterans carry the Whiskey Jack tradition into a post COVID world.

She is multi-instrumentalist\, songwriter and singer who specializes in flute\, piano and resophonic guitar. \n\n\n\nNicole performs regularly throughout Southern Ontario and upstate NY. Highlights from previous years include Festival of Friends\, Lighthouse Blues Fest\, Mariposa and the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. \n\n\n\nNicole is also an enthusiastic educator and supporter of young musicians. During theschool year she teaches privately as well as for the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts.

SUMMARY:Learn with Vern: An Introductory Drawing Class (No Experience Needed!) - Youth Edition
DESCRIPTION:Join us at The Stockey Centre for a new educational series: Learn with Vern! \n\n\n\nYOUTH class for Ages 12 – 19 only. Parents/guardians will be required to complete a permission form upon arriving with students under the age of 18 for Day One of the class. \n\n\n\nFor the adult version of this class for ages 20 plus\, you can find more information by clicking here. \n\n\n\nDay One: Monday August 25 from 12:30pm to 3:30pm &  \n\n\n\nDay Two: Tuesday August 26th from 12:30pm to 3:30pm \n\n\n\nDay One: Meet and greet\, discussion of experience. Subject: drawing\, a series of indoor twenty-minute blocks exploring a few techniques. Then\, weather permitting\, going outside to explore sketching the local environment\, large and small objects. Students will not leave the property. If indoor due to inclement weather\, use the interior environment. Third option is explorations of free drawing. Cameras may be used to review later if needed.  \n\n\n\nDay Two: Discuss aspects of particular studies of hands and faces. Use of pens\, tapers and erasers. Then diving in water colour to colour a sketch after redrawing onto water colour paper.  \n\n\n\nA maximum of 20 participant spaces are available for the session. ALL supplies included. Students are encouraged to bring a device that takes pictures\, along with a water bottle and any allergy-safe snacks they may wish to bring. \n\n\n\nOne registration covers both days of the class and participation is required for days. \n\n\n\nSpaces are $45 + HST each. \n\n\n\nAbout Vern: Vern Bignell has been drawing and painting since 1970’s. He creates in Pen and Ink\, Oil\, Acrylic and Water Colour. Styles vary from Semi-realism to Abstract. Her unique sound has captured the hearts of those who have been watching her grow online\, as well as those who catch her live shows\, up-close and personal. Her many released singles are being played on radio stations all around the world\, and have won her 7 independent music awards over the past 5 years. SUMMARY:Learn with Vern: An Introductory Drawing Class (No Experience Needed!) - Adult Edition
DESCRIPTION:Join us at The Stockey Centre for a new educational series: Learn with Vern! \n\n\n\nADULT class for Ages 20 plus only. \n\n\n\nFor the youth version of this class for ages 12 to 19\, you can find more information by clicking here. \n\n\n\nDay One: Thursday August 28 from 12:30pm to 3:30pm & \n\n\n\nDay Two: Friday August 29th from 12:30pm to 3:30pm \n\n\n\nDay One: Meet and greet\, discussion of experience. Subject: drawing\, a series of indoor twenty-minute blocks exploring a few techniques. Then\, weather permitting\, going outside to explore sketching the local environment\, large and small objects. If indoor due to inclement weather\, use the interior environment. Third option is explorations of free drawing. Cameras may be used to review later if needed. \n\n\n\nDay Two: Discuss aspects of particular studies of hands and faces. Use of pens\, tapers and erasers. Then diving in water colour to colour a sketch after redrawing onto water colour paper.  \n\n\n\nA maximum of 20 participant spaces are available for the session. ALL supplies included. Students are encouraged to bring a device that takes pictures\, along with a water bottle and any allergy-safe snacks they may wish to bring. \n\n\n\nOne registration covers both days of the class and participation is required for days. \n\n\n\nSpaces are $45 + HST each. \n\n\n\nAbout Vern: Vern Bignell has been drawing and painting since 1970’s. He creates in Pen and Ink\, Oil\, Acrylic and Water Colour. Styles vary from Semi-realism to Abstract.
