DESCRIPTION:The Northwest Passage in Story and Song is a musical and spoken-word performance of original songs inspired by the sights and sounds of the Canadian Arctic\, its history and its contemporary realities. Combining photography\, storytelling\, and live original songs\, this performance conveys the emotional and spiritual impact of Arctic travel. \nSinger-songwriter David Newland is an expedition host and Zodiac driver who has made multiple trips to the Canadian Arctic\, Labrador and Greenland. Born in Ottawa\, raised on the shores of Georgian Bay near Parry Sound\, David crisscrossed Canada and travelled the world before settling in Cobourg\, Ontario.  Along with his backing band\, Uncharted Waters (Sam Allison\, Saskia Tomkins\, and Steafan Hannigan) he presents a stirring\, evocative musical vision of the mythic Arctic. Special guests Siqiniup Qilauta / Sunsdrum bring a dynamic presence to the stage\, sharing contemporary and traditional Inuit culture by way of throat-singing\, drum-dancing and Arctic games

DESCRIPTION:After 18 albums\, countless awards and wowing sold‐out audiences around the globe\, THE LEGENDARY DOWNCHILD BLUES BAND are celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year with a brand‐new show featuring hits like “Flip\, Flop & Fly\,” as well as fan favourites and hidden gems from throughout their illustrious career. \nDownchild came to international prominence as the inspiration for Hollywood stars Dan Aykroyd and the late John Belushi’s hit film\, The Blues Brothers.
