DESCRIPTION:What to bring to the sound bath… \n\n\n\nDress comfortably\, and please arrive a few minutes early to get settled. \n\n\n\nYou’ll be a restful state for the duration of the sound bath so it’s important to make yourself as comfortable as possible. \n\n\n\nThings to bring: \n\n\n\nYoga mat \n\n\n\nPillow (s) and blanket \n\n\n\nWater \n\n\n\nYou might also want to bring: \n\n\n\nCrystals to support you. The vibrations actually cleanse and charge crystals as well. \n\n\n\nIf you have a bolster or if there is anything else that would make you feel more comfortable\, please bring it with you. The sound portion will be approximately 1 hour in addition to the opening and closing of the circle. \n\n\n\nNote – Participants are also able to bring anti gravitational chairs or recliners if preferred\, who are not able to lay on the floor. \n\n\n\nPlease note\, by purchasing a space at this event\, you are providing us with permission to share your name and email address with Sound with Lisa. Folk legend Martin Simpson produced this latest project\, which features instrumentation from some of the finest musicians on the English folk scene\, including Nancy Kerr\, Andy Cutting\, Liz Hanks\, James Fagan\, Louis Campbell\, and Ben Nicholls. Matthew Byrne’s previous two recordings each won Traditional Album of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards\, and his highly anticipated 4th recording will grab further attention from traditional audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. \n\n\n\nStorytelling through song is a fundamental duty of traditional music\, and Matthew Byrne does this brilliantly. His musical upbringing has shaped his repertoire\, and Byrne supports this tradition with powerful vocals\, polished guitar work\, and a presence that fills the room. \n\n\n\nWith parents who were both singers and song collectors and a strong family focus on sharing songs\, Byrne has inherited a unique repertoire and a fascination with unearthing and reimagining traditional songs. \n\n\n\n“I’m not a folklorist or ethnomusicologist\, at least not officially. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the Holiday Season with the Orillia Silver Band! \n\n\n\nSleighbells and Brass Christmas Concert \n\n\n\nThe Orillia Silver Band celebrates the holiday season with its traditional Sleighbells and Brass Christmas Concert.  The concert takes place on Sunday\, December 01\, 2024\, 2:00 pm at the Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts in Parry Sound. \n\n\n\nThe Orillia Silver Band has enjoyed a long-standing tradition of providing concerts of holiday music in Parry Sound.  “We have a wonderful selection of Christmas season favourites to offer this year!” says Neil Barlow\, the band’s Music Director and Conductor.  \n\n\n\nAmong the items to be performed during the concert are a stirring rendition of Joy to the World arranged by William Himes\, Norman Bearcroft’s happy Fantasia on the Sussex Carol\, Philip Rayment’s exciting The City of David\, andthe sparkling work A Great and Mighty Wonder by Kenneth Downie.  \n\n\n\nThe band’s own Sarah Hemeon will be featured as Soprano Cornet soloist on Stephen Bulla’s arrangement of O Holy Night.  Also included is a setting of a traditional French carol called Noel Nouvelet by Canadian Kevin Norbury.   The concert will feature a wonderful arrangement of the traditional The Holly and the Ivy\, as well as some engaging music for the Hannukah season.  \n\n\n\nAnd it wouldn’t be a Silver Band Christmas concert without an audience-request sing-a-long.  So come prepared to exercise your vocal skills with your favourite Christmas carols. \n\n\n\nPlease don’t miss this wonderful concert of holiday festivity! \n\n\n\nTickets are: \n\n\n\nAdults $27.95 + HST each. \n\n\n\nSeniors $22.95 + HST each. \n\n\n\nChildren $17.95 + HST each. \n\n\n\nBUY TICKETS ONLINE HERE \n\n\n\nTickets can also be purchased during our business hours by calling our Box Office at 705-746-4466 extension 405 or visiting us at 2 Bay Street\, Parry Sound.

Please sign up directly to this Sound Bath by emailing Sound with Lisa at soundwithlisa@gmail.com. \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nWhat to bring to the sound bath… \n\n\n\nDress comfortably\, and please arrive a few minutes early to get settled. \n\n\n\nYou’ll be a restful state for the duration of the sound bath so it’s important to make yourself as comfortable as possible. \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nThings to bring: \n\n\n\nYoga mat \n\n\n\nPillow (s) and blanket \n\n\n\nWater \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nYou might also want to bring: \n\n\n\nCrystals to support you. The vibrations actually cleanse and charge crystals as well. If you have a bolster or if there is anything else that would make you feel more comfortable\, please bring it with you.
