SUMMARY:Tom Lavin & the Legendary Powder Blues
DESCRIPTION:For over four decades Powder Blues has been Canada’s leading blues band. The mix of swing\, blues\, jazz\, rock & roll and r & b has an appeal so wide that people from seven to seventy swing side by side at a Powder Blues concert. Over the years the band has toured non-stop through Canada\, the US and overseas\, sharing their feel-good music. \n\n\n\nPowder Blues debut album\, ‘Uncut’\, was ignored by major labels who said there was ‘no market for the blues’. Undiscouraged\, the band sent it to radio stations whose switchboards lit up with calls asking\, ‘who’s that?’ After selling 30\,000 copies in a few weeks\, the same record labels competed to sign the band. To date Powder Blues have sold over a million records worldwide. \n\n\n\nHighlights include winning Canada’s Juno\, headlining the Montreux Switzerland Jazz Festival\, winning the Blues Foundation Award in Memphis\, Tennessee and touring the US and Europe with legends like Willie Dixon\, John Lee Hooker\, B.B. King\, James Brown\, Albert Collins\, James Cotton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. \n\n\n\nLeader\, Tom Lavin wrote many of the band’s best-known songs including ‘Doin’ It Right’ (‘On the Wrong Side of Town’) and ‘Boppin With the Blues’. Born in Chicago\, where he played with local bands and blues legends\, Tom moved to Vancouver where he worked as studio musician\, song writer\, band leader\, record producer and film composer. \n\n\n\nTom has won BCMIA awards for ‘Guitarist\, Singer\, Songwriter and Producer of the Year’\, a Juno award for ‘Best New Band’ and the American W.C. Handy award. He has over a dozen gold\, and platinum records for Powder Blues\, Prism\, April Wine\, Long John Baldry\, Amos Garrett\, and many others. \n\n\n\n2025 is the band’s 47th Anniversary. Their more than dozen CD titles and DVD continue to sell world-wide making Tom Lavin & the Legendary Powder Blues one of Canada’s longest-standing musical ambassadors. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets are $64.95 +HST. \n\n\n\nBUY TICKETS ONLINE HERE \n\n\n\nAlternatively\, tickets can also be purchased during our business hours by calling our Box Office staff at 705-746-4466 extension 405 or visiting us at 2 Bay Street\, Parry Sound. SUMMARY:Stockey Pub Night presents Acoustic Zeppelin
DESCRIPTION:From Blues and Old English Folk music influences to Moroccan and Middle Eastern beats and melodies\, ACOUSTIC ZEPPELIN is a musical journey around the acoustic world of Zeppelin. Featuring the mandolin\, 12 string acoustic guitar\, violin and fiddle\, along with layered 6 string acoustic and electric guitars\, and the signature thunder of John Bonham’s drums\, the show presents the Zeppelin songs as they were performed on record and on stage. Two vocalists sing in tandem to deliver this diverse range of material\, also bringing to life the recorded harmony vocal performances that were rarely recreated on stage. \n\n\n\nThe music is executed by Sean Cotton on acoustic guitar\, and lead vocals; Tamica Herod on lead vocals; George Axon on 6 and 12 string acoustic guitars\, electric guitar\, and mandolin; Wayne Ferguson on fiddle and mandolin; Mike Phillips on bass guitar; Rich Howard on drums. \n\n\n\nTickets are $19.95+HST each. \n\n\n\nThis is a pub-style event\, tables of 8 can be reserved for your group of friends when all the tickets are purchased at once! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBUY TICKETS ONLINE HERE \n\n\n\nTickets can also be purchased during our business hours by calling our Box Office at 705-746-4466 extension 405 or visiting us at 2 Bay Street\, Parry Sound.

SUMMARY:THE STAMPEDERS . . . . One More Time
DESCRIPTION:‘They’re on their way\, to the city lights’ … and\, THE predominant Canadian Rock ‘n’ Roll band of the 1970s –The Stampeders– are bringing along all their classic hits: Wild Eyes\, Carry Me\, Oh My Lady\, Devil You\, Ramona\, Minstrel Gypsy\, Hit the Road Jack and\, of course\, the quintessential Canadian – and Hall of Fame – song\, Sweet City Woman! A veritable soundtrack to a whole generation that will ‘carry you home’ … maybe not to Birmingham … but back to a time of tie-dyed  t-shirts and elevator shoes\, 15¢ coffee and homemade apple pie\, dating and dreaming … By the time The Stampeders get to the first chorus of the first song\, everyone will be singing along. \n\n\n\nNo seventies group represented Canada’s musical identity to the world like The Stampeders. A quick look at Canada’s music scene from 1971 until 1976 confirms The Stampeders were truly the country’s international musical ambassadors\, touring more extensively in Canada and overseas than any other Canadian group during that time.  In 1977 the trio: Rich Dodson (lead guitar)\, Kim Berly (drums) and Ronnie King (bass) parted company but reunited\, fittingly at the Calgary Stampede\, 15 years later in 1992. Since then they’ve been recognized by SOCAN for their Lifetime Achievement\, been inducted into the SOCAN Songwriters Hall of Fame on five occasions and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame for their 1971 seminal hit Sweet City Woman. \n\n\n\nIn March 2024\, just before the Ontario leg of this tour\, Ronnie King passed away.  In the final days\, while in  palliative care\, he insisted that his band mates carry on.  Dave  Chabot\, renowned bassist and long time friend of the band\, who was already scheduled to be on the tour to sit in for Ronnie as needed\, was the obvious choice.  Still\, Ronnie  remains a presence at every show\, as Rich and Kim share stories from 50plus years on the road and pay tribute with a retrospective video.     \n\n\n\nThe enduring musical legacy of The Stampeders  … One More Time … ‘better catch a noon train\, better get there for a rock ‘n’ rolling good time!’     \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets are $90 + HST each. \n\n\n\nTo become a Stockey Member\, you can visit us on our Membership page for more information and to purchase online\, give us a call at 705-746-4466 extension 405\, or visit us at 2 Bay Street\, Parry Sound. \n\n\n\nBUY TICKETS ONLINE HERE \n\n\n\nTickets can also be purchased during our business hours by calling our Box Office at 705-746-4466 extension 405 or visiting us at 2 Bay Street\, Parry Sound.
