This is The Thing To Do on a summer Tuesday evening! Performances are held outside on our bayside deck\, or inside in case of rain from June to August. Domino’s Pizza Parry Sound will be on-site selling pizza\, accompanied by The Stockey Centre’s licensed cash bar. \n\n\n\nWhiskey Jack’s success began in the 1980’s when the band was invited to host their own “Ol’ Back Porch” segment on CBC TV’s Tommy Hunter Show.  Then\, when Stompin’ Tom resumed his career\, he called Duncan and invited Whiskey Jack to join him in the studio to record his acclaimed album\, “Dr. Stompin’ Tom… Eh?”. These two Canadian musical institutions would continue to perform and record together until Tom’s death in 2014. Today\, Duncan is joined by two-time Juno nominee\, Douglas John Cameron. These seasoned veterans carry the Whiskey Jack tradition into a post COVID world.

Throughout 30 days of calms\, storms\, setbacks\, and unimaginable scenery\, Alizé’s camera kept rolling. The aesthetic of the film will provoke a deep emotional reaction\, as the viewer is presented with the intensity of the voyage\, and the ocean. The ever-changing state of the sea\, in all its splendour\, and duality—shifting between gentleness and rage—reflects our own humanity and opens us to contemplation on our relationship with the most unknown parts of ourselves and the planet. They met at the music jam session in Kyiv back in 2018 and have been sharing their music and traveling across the globe since then. One day they came to Parry Sound with a Viking cruise ship and decided to stay here. His humble beginnings lead him to international competitions and the start of a career in music.  \n\n\n\nGiven the opportunity\, privilege and honour to perform alongside Country Music Hall Of Fame Inductees “The Jordanaires” and the “Stamps Quartet”\, had and continues to inspire Lance in pursuing his tribute to Elvis.  \n\n\n\nOn August 16\, 1977\, the World had lost one of the greatest entertainers of its time. Elvis Aaron Presley was a natural how he worked his magic and transformed to stardom. DESCRIPTION:Domino’s Pizza Parry Sound presents Bands on the Bay: Free Summer Concerts \n\n\n\nA free concert overlooking the bay? This is The Thing To Do on a summer Tuesday evening! Performances are held outside on our bayside deck\, or inside in case of rain from June to August. Domino’s Pizza Parry Sound will be on-site selling pizza\, accompanied by The Stockey Centre’s licensed cash bar. \n\n\n\nNicole Christian is a little roots\, a little country and a whole lot bottle-neck blues. She is multi-instrumentalist\, songwriter and singer who specializes in flute\, piano and resophonic guitar. \n\n\n\nNicole performs regularly throughout Southern Ontario and upstate NY. Highlights from previous years include Festival of Friends\, Lighthouse Blues Fest\, Mariposa and the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. \n\n\n\nNicole is also an enthusiastic educator and supporter of young musicians. During theschool year she teaches privately as well as for the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at The Stockey Centre for a new educational series: Learn with Vern! \n\n\n\nYOUTH class for Ages 12 – 19 only. Parents/guardians will be required to complete a permission form upon arriving with students under the age of 18 for Day One of the class. \n\n\n\nFor the adult version of this class for ages 20 plus\, you can find more information by clicking here. \n\n\n\nDay One: Monday August 25 from 12:30pm to 3:30pm &  \n\n\n\nDay Two: Tuesday August 26th from 12:30pm to 3:30pm \n\n\n\nDay One: Meet and greet\, discussion of experience. Subject: drawing\, a series of indoor twenty-minute blocks exploring a few techniques. Then\, weather permitting\, going outside to explore sketching the local environment\, large and small objects. Students will not leave the property. If indoor due to inclement weather\, use the interior environment. Third option is explorations of free drawing. Cameras may be used to review later if needed.  \n\n\n\nDay Two: Discuss aspects of particular studies of hands and faces. Use of pens\, tapers and erasers. Then diving in water colour to colour a sketch after redrawing onto water colour paper.  \n\n\n\nA maximum of 20 participant spaces are available for the session. ALL supplies included. Students are encouraged to bring a device that takes pictures\, along with a water bottle and any allergy-safe snacks they may wish to bring. \n\n\n\nOne registration covers both days of the class and participation is required for days. \n\n\n\nSpaces are $45 + HST each. \n\n\n\nAbout Vern: Vern Bignell has been drawing and painting since 1970’s.
