The Stockey Centre & Festival of the Sound present Beethoven in Autumn

Join us LIVE at the Stockey Centre as we film the Rolston String Quartet, Penderecki String Quartet, and two-thirds of the Gryphon Trio with James Campbell! These recorded performances will be featured in some of the upcoming Beethoven@250 virtual concerts.
Ticket sales will open to the public starting at noon on Wednesday, November 4th. Be sure to get yours quickly as tickets are limited! Strict COVID-19 health protocols will be in full force and effect.
Your health is important! The Stockey Centre’s air return system provides near 100% fresh air exchange in the performance hall. Mandatory masks will be required everywhere in the building including during the concert and physical distancing in the building and concert hall will be enforced. This LIVE concert will take place on Wednesday, November 18th, 2020 at 7:00 PM and will feature two of Beethoven’s string quartets and his famous clarinet trio, all performed by the Rolston and Penderecki String Quartets, Roman Borys, Jamie Parker, & James Campbell.
James Campbell, Artistic Director of the Festival of the Sound, had this to say about this exciting announcement: “We are thrilled to be back in the Stockey Centre for the second time this fall! ABOUT FESTIVAL OF THE SOUND: The Festival of the Sound is Canada’s premiere classical summer music festival. Now in its 41st year, the Festival takes place for three weeks annually in July and August in Parry Sound, Ontario. Due to COVID-19, our summer home, the performance hall at the Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts was closed in March. In support of safety for all in these unprecedented times, the Festival is taking a sabbatical in 2020. The Festival of the Sound has been a Festival & Events Ontario Top 100 award recipient for the last 5 years.
ABOUT THE STOCKEY CENTRE: The Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts, located in Parry Sound, Ontario, houses the 400-seat Festival Performance Hall and the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame on a 3.5-acre waterfront site overlooking beautiful Georgian Bay. The building opened on July 18, 2003, and runs year-round, presenting artists of excellence and celebrating athletes of excellence.
