Free Film at The Stockey: Bones of Crows

Bones of Crows is a psychological drama told through the eyes of Cree Matriarch, Aline Spears, as she survives Canada’s residential school system to continue her family’s generational fight in the face of systemic starvation, racism and sexual abuse. Bones of Crows unfolds over one hundred years with a cumulative force that propels us into the future.

Directed by Marie Clements, starring Grace Dove, Phillip Forest Lewitski, Rémy Girard, Karine Vanasse, Alyssa Wapanatâhk, Michelle Thrush, Gail Maurice, Carla Rae, and Cara Gee.

Bones of Crows was filmed on the traditional territories of the Esquimalt Nation, Kwikwetlem  First Nation, Lekwungen Songhees Nation, Musqueam Nation, Okanagan Nation, Scia’new First  Nation (Beecher Bay), Squamish Nation, Tk!emlúps te Secwe̓ pemc, Tla’amin Nation, Tsartlip Nation (North Saanich), Tseycum First Nation (Saanich), Tsleil-Waututh Nation.

Admission to this film is free, seats will be available on a first come, first served basis. This film is rated 14A for sexual violence and coarse language.
